Clean up your hair product habit! Only use shampoos, conditioners and styling products that are sulfate-free and alcohol-free. Sulfates and alcohols strip your hair of its natural oils and dry out your hair, leaving you with a frizzy mess. Those that are more natural, higher quality, and have the least amount of additives are usually a good bet....we carry Pureology shampoos and conditioners at the salon: totally sulfate-free (and we sell them for less $ than Ricky's or Duane Reade!) Also try to avoid products with silicones or silicone derivatives because they leave a coating on your hair that's hard to wash out and doesn't let beneficial conditioners penetrate the hair shaft. Start with a good foundation and you'll find that you will be using less products and will be on your way to soft, shiny, bouncy curls!
